Neutron Stars as Cosmological Laboratories of Dark Matter

If dark matter particles form in or accrete onto neutron stars in sufficient numbers, they might lead to measurable effects on observable neutron star phenomena. Thus, neutron stars may serve, among other things, as cosmological laboratories of nuclear and particle physics applicable for an (indirect) assessment of the properties of dark matter. Examples will be given of how observable neutron star properties may help constrain dark matter candidates.
