Diffusive Nuclear Burning in Neutron Star Envelopes

I will present some further aspects of the theory of diffusive nuclear burning, a mode of nuclear burning that may affect the composition of NS envelopes on short astrophysical timescales. I will give an outline of the observations motivating this work, present the basic physics, outline some of the consequences and show some new developments especially the inclusion of magnetic fields.
