Neutron Star Precession: Evidence for Type II Superconductivity?

The possibility that precession is enabled by Type II superconductivity in the core of a neutron star will be reviewed. In favor of this proposal is its simple account for precession periods. Against it may be requirements of vortex line pinning, and the i ssue of why all pulsars are not seen to precess. Both issues will be discussed.
